10 Unique and Interesting "Pulled" Bullets with Display Case

SOLD

These 10 bullets are not just your average ordinary American Civil War bullets. Each one of these bullets is a misfire and each one had to be extracted or "pulled" from the gun barrel using a screw, double corkscrew type or other device attached to the end of a ramrod. What makes this group particularly interesting is that there are several different types of bullets included and each one may exhibit unusual features such as exceptionally large screw holes, very distinct screw threads, deep holes, and other unusual and unique characteristics. Included in this group are:

(Top Row L-R)
.58 cal. Type I Williams cleaner with complete zinc disk (double cork screw pulled)
.58 cal. Type III Williams cleaner
.58 cal. Type III Williams cleaner
.69 cal. three ring
.58 cal. three ring swage base

(Bottom Row L-R)

.58 cal. three ring
.58 caliber Confederate Gardner
.577 cal. Enfield
.58 cal. three ring "star base" (double cork screw pulled)
.54 cal. three ringer

Another interesting aspect about extracted or pulled bullets is the fact that they were handled not once, but twice by the soldier. Often, in the heat of battle when everything was on the line between life and death, with continued firing often the guns simply misfired and the bullet would need to be extracted prior to re-loading. With bullets whizzing by, the extraction process time must have seemed an eternity.

The bullets are displayed, without adhesive, in a 4 1/2 (W) x 5 1/2 (L) x 3/4 (D) inch glass top Riker display case which will be included. They are held in place by the pressure of the glass top and are secured with pins on either side of the box. All items are in excavated relic condition ranging from fair to very good. This nice collection was recovered from various battle sites in Virginia and the bullets pictured are the exact bullets you will receive. The group will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War bullet or general relic collection.
