.52 Caliber Sharps New Model 1859 Bullet Mold

This non-excavated .52 caliber Sharps "New Model" 1859 bullet mold is constructed of iron and is in very good condition. It is a single cavity, scissor type mold with the nipper or sprue cutter at the very end of the mold block. Clearly visible on one arm is stamped "NEW MODEL 1859 / 32". The iron surface is smooth with nearly no pitting and an overall dark patina with light grey areas. The bullet cavities are crisp, and the nippers show mild wear from usage. Its overall length measures approximately 8-1/2 inches and it weighs approximately 13.4 ounces. The action operates smoothly with no unwanted play between the arms.
