.58 Caliber Enfield "Blow-Thru" Bullet - Rare Example

SOLD

This excavated .58 caliber Enfield "blow-thru" bullet is a unique relic and was recovered in the area of Fredericksburg, VA. Due to the thin walls of the bullet nose, caused by improper casting, the force of the firing caused the bullet to be "blown-through".  Rarely are Enfield bullets recovered with this type of defect. The bullet measures 1.47 inches in length and .57 in diameter, and will be an excellent educational or display piece for any Civil war bullet or general relic collection.
