.58 Caliber "Pulled" Star Base Bullet with Bulging Star

SOLD

Item: .58 Caliber "Pulled" Star Base Bullet with Bulging Star
Condition: Excavated. This pulled star based bullet has a dirty white patina with a well-rounded skirt. The raised star in the base of the bullet's cavity is unusual as it is pushed towards the rim likely due to the point of the extracting device. Not only was this bullet loaded by the soldier but was also extracted as it was a mis-fire. The threads of the extracting screw are clearly visible within the hole in the bullet's tip.
Recovered:  Culpeper, VA
Approximate size:  .58 x .85 inches.
Reference: M&M: 341 / Thomas' RBTR Part One, #203
Comments: This unusual pulled and bulging raised star base bullet will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War bullet or general relic collection.
