Apothecary Scale Weight

These apothecary scale weight were used by alchemists and doctors to weigh prescription medicine. This excavated weight appears to be constructed of cast brass which now has a very pleasing green patina. It weighs approximately 1.5 ounces and is .62 inches in height and 1 inch in diameter. On the bottom of the weight is the digger indicates in black lettering on a white background that this relic was recovered from North Anna, VA. This scale weight will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War medical, campsite, or general relic collection.
