Brass Under Plug for Confederate Bormann Time Fuzed Artillery Shell

This brass under plug, for Confederate Bormann time fuzed artillery shell, is in excellent condition. Under plugs supported the soft metal of the fuze from being damaged during firing. This example has a very pleasing green patina, and its threads are in good shape. It measures approximately 1-inch in diameter and is approximately .039 inches thick.
Recovered: Fredericksburg, VA area.

This brass under plug was acquired directly from the family of the local Virginia digger and will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War artillery or general relic collection.
