This excavated "Indian Head" cent had the center removed likely an idle soldier. Using a sharp edge, the profile of Lady Liberty wearing a Native American feather headdress was delicately carved away, thankfully leaving the date of 1860. Constructed of copper-nickel it has a green patina with very minor body wave. It measures approximately 20mm in diameter. This carved cent is from the collection of Glenn Trimmer. Read about Glenn by clicking his highlighted linked name. It will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War currency, campsite art or general relic collection.
