Civil War "Pulled" Bullet Display - Petersburg, VA Campaign

These excavated Civil War "pulled" bullets were recently acquired directly from the digger who recovered them from various sites associated with the Petersburg, Virginia campaign of 1864-1865. Each one is a misfire and each one had to be extracted or "pulled" from the gun barrel using a screw type device attached to the end of a ramrod. Often, during the heat of battle, when everything was on the line between life and death, the guns simply misfired and the process to extract the bullet would begin. I suppose, with bullets whizzing by, the extraction process seemed an eternity. The case includes five excavated pulled bullets which are all listed and described on the rear of the display indicating the type of item, caliber, location and date of recovery. A close up image of this list is included in the additional images to the left of this description. They are displayed in a 4-1/2 x 5-1/2 x 3/4 inch glass top display case which will be included. The items are held in place by the pressure of the glass top resting upon the items and the rear felt covered batting material. The case and its glass top are secured by straight pins on either side of the box. All of the bullets are in good condition. These bullets will be an excellent display for any office, den, or family room, and will also be a great gift for the American history buff.
