Federal Company Letter "F"

Item: Federal Company Letter "F"
Construction: 
Stamped thin sheet brass.
Condition:
 Very good, excavated, brass wire attachment device missing. The brass has a mossy green-brown patina. There is a slight inward bend to the overall letter. There is minor edgewear at the upper inside corner of the vertical column and on the on the bottom edge of the bottom serif. A remnant of solder is present on the rear that once held the attachment device. It is in solid shape with no cracks or repairs.
Recovered: Malvern Hill, VA area.
Approximate size:
 1 x 1 inch.
