Item: Confederate 12-Pounder Shell - High Quality
Gun: 12-pounder smoothbore, 4.62-inch caliber.
Construction: Cast iron shell.
Fuzing: Wood plug adaptor for paper time fuze.
Approximate size: Weight: 7.8 pounds. Diameter: 4.48 inches.
Condition: Excellent, excavated. The shell's surface is very smooth with nearly no pitting. A prominent mold seam is present. This empty shell appears to have been cleaned and treated with electrolysis. There are no repairs.
Recovered: Unknown.
Comments: This shell will also be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War artillery or general relic collection.
