Item: Confederate .71 Caliber Three Ring Bullet - Huge
Condition: Un-fired, excavated, excellent. The bullet has an overall grey-white surface patina. Nose cast, round skirt, and inside its conical cavity is concreted woodsy soil. No repairs.
Recovered: Spotsylvania Court House (aka. Bloody Angle), VA area. 
Approximate size: .692 inch diameter, 1.07 inch length, 763 grains weight.
Reference: An image of one the bullets from the same group (See Comments section below) recovered from Spotsylvania Court House is found pictured and described in the following Civil War bullet reference book:

  • "Round Ball to Rimfire, Part Four by Dean S. Thomas page 238, #585A.

Comments: The .71 caliber bullet offered here is from a group of 24, all of the same type recovered from the same dig site. All 24 were acquired directly from the digger in 2012. This example is one of two that remain from that group, and it will be an excellent addition to any Civil War bullet or general relic collection.
