Item: Confederate Army Officer Coat Button
Backmark: Blank with depressed channel.
Design: Crude eagle on a plain field without stars.
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 21 mm.
Condition: Fair, excavated, secure shank present. Green patina. Front has a moderate push the eagle's left wing. Overall ground action resulting in minor damage where the front rim meets the back of the button. There is a tiny hole on the rim visible from the side only. The button is remarkably still solidly intact and has not been repaired.

Comments: If you prefer that "been there, done that" war torn appearance, this button is for you. It will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
