Comments: According to "Uniform Buttons of the United States 1776-1865" by Warren K. Tice, these buttons are believed to have been made by Casimir Rouyer of New Orleans. The button was acquired directly from the family of a local Virginia digger and will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
