Comments: According to "Uniform Buttons of the United States 1776-1865" by Warren K. Tice, "This highly convex button is a rarity, with both dug and non-dug examples known." The button was acquired directly from the family of the Virginia digger and will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
