Item: Confederate Artillery Coat Button - Lined A
Backmark: Blank
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Design: Lined Roman letter "A" on a plain field.
Approximate size: 23 mm.
Condition: Good, excavated, shank present inside button. Dusty green patina. The shank is loose inside the button leaving a hole in the center rear. There are no pushes, cracks or repairs. 
Recovered: Amelia County, VA
Reference: Tice: CSA203A5 Albert: CS 102
Comments: This Confederate artillery coat button was acquired directly from the family of the local Virginia digger, and it will be an excellent example addition to any Civil War button or general relic collection.
