Item: Confederate Cavalry Coat Button - Lined "C" - Back Replaced
Backmark: Blank
Design: Lined Roman letter "C" on a plain field.
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 23 mm.
Condition: Fair, excavated, secure shank present. The front of the button is original and has a mottled brown patina with a moderate center push. The front's rim shows crimping likely as a result of securing the back to the front. The back of the button is a replacement and may or not be modern. While I am not completely sure, the re-fitted back may be an entire slightly smaller button. The shank is slightly loose but secure. The button has no cracks.
