Item: Confederate Infantry Button - Lined "I" - 16mm
Backmark: "SKW /EXTRA RICH" dm with the initials reversed inside a butterfly or moth outline.
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Design: Lined Roman letter "I" on a plain field.
Approximate size: 16 mm.
Condition: Fair, excavated, shank present but separated from the button back. Dark brown, almost black patina with overall moderate ground action. While a portion of the back is missing, the separated shank still retains a small portion. There are no pushes, cracks, or repairs.
Recovered: Richmond, VA area.

Comments: This Confederate infantry button was acquired from the family of the local Richmond, Va digger. It will be an excellent example addition to any Civil War button or general relic collection.
