Backmark: "S. ISAACS CAMPBELL & Co / LONDON / 71 JERMYN. ST" dm
Design: Lined old English "I" on a plain field.
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 22 mm.
Condition: Good, excavated, secure shank present. Brown-green patina. Moderate push to front. Backmark partially visible. No cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Mount Jackson, VA area.
Reference: Tice: CSI215A2 Albert: CS 177
Comments: The button was acquired directly from the digger and will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
