Design: Lined Roman "I" on a plain field with one line in each of the two serifs.
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 19 mm.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, secure floating type shank present. Smooth surface with a brown patina. The backmark is visible. No pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Unknown.

Comments: The button was acquired directly from the family of a local Virginia digger and will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
