Item: Confederate "Script" Cavalry Cuff Button
Backmark: "TREBLE RICH / STANDARD" dm
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 13 mm.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, secure shank present. This very solid button has a very pleasing even chocolate brown patina. The backmark is difficult to discern, but is there. It has no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: During the 1970s from the Petersburg, VA area.

Comments: The close-up images of this button do not do it justice. The high resolution images are showing every little surface flaw highly magnified. It is by far prettier in hand under regular room lighting. This rare button will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
