Design:
 The front shows a large sailing vessel in the center with a sailor at the ship's capstan to the left. The note is hand numbered in red and signed in black ink. Printed on the note is "The Confederate States of America / Will pay TWENTY DOLLARS to bearer. / Richmond, VA. / September 2d,,1861 / Six Months after the Ratification of a Treaty of Peace between the Confederate States and the United States / Receivable in payment of all dues except export dues / Fundable in Confederate State Stocks bearing Eight per Cent Interest." The rear is blank.
Approximate size:
 3 x 7-3/8 inches.
Condition:
 Very good. Borders are complete with the exception of a small break in the top edge. Within the signature, specifically the middle initial "J" of the Register, Thomas J. Miller, in the darkest line of that script letter, is a break that runs the length of that line and is visible if held up to a good light. There are several pinholes also visible if held up to a good light. The paper is crisp with minor discoloration.
