Federal Bivouac Camp Discards - Clyburn's Store

SOLD

This display of excavated Civil War mostly brass relics represent what was once recovered on an average day of relic hunting. Today, it would be considered a "great day" of relic hunting. Included in the display are a flat buttons, lead shot, suspender ornament, cuff link, tent rivets, button back, porcelain button, and other items. As noted on the digger's display label these relics were recovered from Clyburn's Store (according to the Official Records Clyburn's Store was actually located in South Carolina and not North Carolina as noted on the label). According to the Official Records, on March 1, 1865 Union troops marched 14 miles from Clyburn's Store to Brewer's farm along "miry roads" in cloudy weather with little rain. To read more about this march click the link the preceding Clyburn's Store link. The items were acquired directly from the family of the digger who hunted Civil War trails, campsites, and battle sites throughout central Virginia and surrounding states for several decades. They will be an excellent Civil War relic display for any den, family room or office or, to add to any general relic collection. The glass top display case and digger's label are included. The display case measures approximately 4-1/2 x 5-1/2 x 3/4 inches.
