Backmark: ". SCOVILLS & CO. / EXTRA" dm
Design: The device shows a symmetrical eagle, with upraised wing and an "I" in the shield.
Construction: High convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 15 mm.
Condition: Very good, excavated, secure shank present. Ample gilt. Backmark difficult to see but definitely there. No pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Stafford County, VA area.
Reference: Tice: GI215As Albert: GI 85, 88.
Comments: This infantry cuff button will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
