Item: Federal Infantry Cuff Button with Bachelor Ring
Backmark: "* SUPERIOR * / QUALITY" dm
Design: The device shows a symmetrical eagle, with upraised wing and an "I" in the shield.
Construction: High convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 16 mm.
Condition: Very good, excavated, secure shank present. Ample gilt with no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Warrenton, VA during the early 1990s.
Reference: Tice: GI215A104As Albert: GI 85, 88.
Comments: Buttons are not often recovered with bachelor rings. This example, acquired directly from the digger, will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
