Item: Federal Infantry "Hunting Horn" Hat Insignia with Display Case
Construction: Stamped thin sheet brass.
Condition:
 Fair, excavated, attachment loops missing. Light brown patina. When recovered its mouthpiece section was missing and, at some point, another excavated mouthpiece section was added. The added section, though slightly too long by approximately 3/8-inch, does have a similar patina that matches quite well. The large portion has no cracks, bends or repairs. The small mouthpiece section has minor bending, but no cracks or repairs. 
Approximate size:
 Large portion: 3-1/4-inch length. Small portion: 1-1/16-inch length.
