Federal Naval Watercap Fuze - Dated 1863

Item: Federal Naval Watercap Fuze - Dated 1863
Construction: Cast brass.
Use: Detonation device for naval shell.
Approximate size:
 Head diameter: 1.26 inches. Length: 2.47 inches.
Condition:
 Very good, excavated. Stamped on its top end is "ORD. D. (anchor) / 1863". Its surface has a rich green patina. Its outer bushing is present while its water cap is missing. The outer threads appear to be in fair condition with only a few flaws. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs.
