Federal Sword Belt Plate

Item: Excavated Federal sword belt plate.
Construction: Cast brass with integral motif and tongue.
Condition: Excellent, excavated. Its brass has an overall even olive-brown patina. The rear has its tongue in place. The plate has a good body curve with no cracks, breaks, bends, or repairs.
Recovered: Charlestown, WV area.
Approximate size: 52 x 83 mm.
Comments: This buckle was acquired direct from the digger and will display very nicely. A numbered keeper (not recovered with the buckle) that is a close, but not perfect, match is available at no extra charge. This sword belt buckle will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War buckle, plate, or general relic collection.
