This Grand Army of the Republic "wheel" hat is in very good condition. It is complete with liner, sweat band and chin strap. The "GAR" wreath and two side GAR buttons are present. The rich blue felt has a few small holes on the top and sides and some of the sweat band stitching has come apart. It is marked with its size of 7-1/8 and manufacturer "B. B. ABRAHAMS / ARMY NAVY & BAND / UNIFORMS / 605 MARKET ST. / PHILADELPHIA". On the sweatband is the name "E. R. Coffman.". Included with the hat is paperwork that possibly identifies this hat to an Edward Coffman who was a musician in Company "K" of the 133rd Regiment of the Ohio Infantry (National Guard). Included in the additional images to the left is this paperwork which includes information about the 133rd Regiment. This hat will be an excellent addition to any Civil War veteran hat or general post-Civil War collection.
