Item: General Service Eagle Coat Button - New Market
Backmark: " * EXTRA * QUALITY"
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 19 mm.
Condition: Very good, excavated, secure shank present. This solid button has an overall brown patina. Though difficult to see, the digger printed "NEW MARKET" on the rear indicating where it was recovered. It has no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: New Market, VA
Comments: This button was acquired directly from the digger and will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
