Hotchkiss Fuze Adaptor

This slightly deformed excavated Hotchkiss type II time fuse adaptor is from an exploded shell and is in fair condition. It was acquired directly from the digger who recovered it from Petersburg, VA. It is constructed of cast brass which has aged into a very pleasing green patina. Amazingly, part of the paper time fuze is still lodged in the adaptor. It is approximately 2.4 inches in length and its head diameter is approximately 1.10 inches. This excavated fuze adaptor will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War artillery or general relic collection.
