Federal 3.8-Inch James Solid Shot Center Portion

This center portion to a Federal 3.8-inch James bolt was recovered Hampshire County, WV and acquired directly from the digger. The bolt's iron is stable, and present are the upper portions of the slots and legs situated just below its upper ring. It weighs approximately 4.2 pounds and measures approximately 3.78 inches in diameter and is approximately 3.38 inches in height. It has been treated with electrolysis and paraffin so as to preserve the iron. This James bolt portion will be an excellent educational tool or display piece for any artillery or general relic collection.
