This non-excavated Kenansville cavalry saber scabbard, manufactured by Louis Frolich, is in excellent condition. The iron body has an even brown patina with a crude lapped seam on one side. While there is very minor denting, it is in solid condition and will easily accept the appropriate blade. Both brass mounts with iron rings are present, as well as its brass throat. Both mounts and throat have a mellow brass patina. A Roman numeral "V" is found on the top of the throat. Perhaps you, or someone you know, has a Kenansville cavalry saber in need of a scabbard. This scabbard will be an excellent addition to any Civil War sword or general relic collection.
