Large US "Liberty Head" One Cent - Dated 1831
This excavated large US "Liberty Head" one cent coin - dated 1831 is in fair condition, has a pleasing rich brown patina and constructed of copper. It measures approximately 1-1/8-inch in diameter. On the obverse is the bust surrounded by 13 stars with the date below. On the reverse is "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA at the rim and ONE CENT" within a wreath. No bends.

This coin was included with a collection of other excavated Civil War relics acquired by Virginia Relics. According to its old label, it was "Dug in a Civil War Camp". Many of the items were recovered from Virginia and Pennsylvania. It will be an excellent example to add to any excavated Civil War campsite or general relic collection.
