Large Civil War Relic Display - Aquia Landing, VA - Trimmer Collection

This excavated Civil War relic display, labeled "Union/Cavalry Camps Aquia Landing, VA" is from the Glenn Trimmer Collection. Included in the display are the following items:

  • .69 caliber 3-ring bullet
  • .54 caliber burnside cartridge portion
  • Carved, melted and other miscellaneous bullets
  • Infantry cuff button
  • Cavalry cuff button
  • 21 general service eagle coat and 5 general service cuff buttons 
  • Staff officer coat button
  • Epaulette parts
  • Five-pointed brass star
  • Sheet brass (possible musical instrument portions, bugle?)
  • Company letter "B"

  • Jeff Davis hat badge (incomplete)

This wood and glass wall hung display was acquired directly from the Trimmer family. It measures approximately 34-1/8 x 23 x 3-1/8 inches and weighs approximately 38 pounds. The relics appear to be mounted in place by the pressure of the glass against the relics and blue felt on a foam backing. The case is sealed from the rear with screws and a heavy plywood board. It will be an excellent addition to any office, den, or family room.
