Item: Michigan State Seal Coat Button
Backmark: ". * . GODDARD & BRO . * . / EXTRA" dm
Design: Michigan state seal showing a shield supported by an elk and a moose, with one man holding a gun standing on a peninsula under an eagle. The word "Tubor" meaning, "I will defend" is written in the shield.
Construction: High convex, three-piece.
Approximate size: 22 mm.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, secure shank present. The front has ample gilt. The backmark is difficult to read but definitely there. No pushes, cracks, breaks or repairs.

Comments: This Michigan state seal coat button will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
