Item: Militia Shoulder Belt Plate - 1808 Pattern, ca. 1820-1833

Construction: Cast brass with integral belt hooks. Flat washers peened onto studs.
Condition: Very good, excavated. The plate has a green patina partially covered with a very light layer of encrusted soil residue. The rear retains a portion of the tongue and two studs with washers which are complete. There are no cracks, bends or repairs.
Recovered: Unknown
Approximate size: 52 x 70 mm.

Comments: This militia belt plate will be an excellent addition to any excavated pre-Civil War militia buckle, plate or general relic collection.
