Item: Mississippi Infantry Coat Button
Backmark: "HYDE & GOODRICH. / N-O." rmdc
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 21 mm.
Condition: Very good, excavated, shank missing. The button surface has a smooth brown patina with a tinge of gilt high-lighting the letter "I". There is a very slight push in the eight o'clock position near the star. It has no cracks or repairs.
Recovered: During the 1970's from the Petersburg, VA area.

Comments: This button will be an excellent display button to add to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
