Comments: According to "Uniform Buttons of the United States 1776-1865" by Warren K. Tice, "A Confederate maker copied the device of Scovill's MP200 to make these locals." The button offered here was acquired directly from the family of a local Virginia digger and will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
