Backmark: "SCOVILL MF'G CO. *** " dm
Design: An eagle on a plain field with down-swept wings with initials "M. V. C. above".
Construction: Convex, two-piece
Approximate size: 16 mm.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, secure shank present. Gilt nicely dispersed in and around the eagle as well as the letters "M.V.C" all on a brown patina. No pushes, cracks, breaks or repairs.
Recovered: Unknown.
Reference: Tice AB250As1; Albert AB 4,5
Comments: This cuff button was acquired directly from the family of the digger and will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
