Comments: According to "Uniform Buttons of the United States 1776-1865" by Warren K. Tice, "Makers produced both of the following variants with crudely cut dies during the 1840s an 1850s. Collectors have excavated examples at Civil War sites." This button will be an excellent addition to any Civil War button or general relic collection.
NOTE: A matching coat size example of this button (PC7807) in excellent condition has also been listed on this website priced at $275.00 and as long as both are available, the pair may be purchased together for $395.00. If interested, please contact me ASAP.
