Item: Oak Leaf Pin for Lieutenant Colonel
Construction: Stamped thin sheet brass with shank.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, shank present, delicate yet solid. The brass has a reddish-brown-green patina. Hints of silver wash may be visible under a light and magnifier along the inner leaf stem. There are no cracks, breaks, bends or repairs.
Approximate size: 5/8 x 5/8 inch.
Recovered: Sailor's Creek, VA area.

Comments: This oak leaf pin was acquired directly from the digger's family. These delicate pins are rarely recovered primarily due to the size and quantity and finding one intact is unusual. This example will be an excellent addition to any Civil War insignia, uniform, or general relic collection.
