This Parrott "long range" time fuze adaptor is in very good condition and was acquired directly from the digger's family whose property is directly adjacent to the Appomattox River and within 2 miles of the Petersburg Battlefield. This fuze adaptor is constructed of zinc and would have screwed into the nose of the artillery shell with a paper time fuze inserted into the hole in its center. Like many of this digger's finds, this relic has not been cleaned or even rinsed off. It is still filled with dirt and the threads appear to be in good condition. The head measures approximately 1.28 inches and the length is approximately 2.44 inches. This fuze adaptor has no cracks, breaks, bends, or repairs and will be an excellent addition to any Civil War artillery or general relic collection.
