Item: Federal 2.9-inch Read-Parrott Case-Shot
Gun: 2.9-inch Parrott rifle.
Construction: Cast iron.
Fuzing: Parrott zinc time fuze.
Sabot: Wrought iron ring.
Approximate size: Weight: 10.2 pounds; Diameter: 2.83-inch; Overall length: 8-1/4-inch. 
Condition: Excavated, very good, fired. Shell exterior is smooth with nearly no pitting and appears to have remnants of old black paint. Fuze and sabot both present. Circular lathe lines are visible on the shell. Deactivated.
Recovered: North Anna, VA area.
