10 Unique and Interesting "Pulled" Bullets

SOLD

These 10 bullets are not just your average ordinary American Civil War bullets. Each one of these bullets is a misfire and each one had to be extracted or "pulled" from the gun barrel using a screw, double corkscrew type or other device attached to the end of a ramrod. What makes this group particularly interesting is that there are several different types of bullets included and each one may exhibit unusual features such as exceptionally large screw holes, very distinct screw threads, deep holes, and other unusual and unique characteristics. Included in this group are: (bottom row L-R) .58 cal. three ring Washington Arsenal "star base", 58 cal. three ringer (excellent example of screw pulled), .58 cal. Type III Williams Cleaner portion, .69 cal. round ball, .58 caliber Confederate Gardner, (top row L-R) .54 cal. three ringer, .58 cal. three ringer (double cork screw pulled), .58 cal. three ringer (screw pulled), .69 cal. three ringer, .58 cal. six-spoke swage base bullet. Another overlooked and interesting aspect about extracted or pulled bullets is the fact that they were handled not once, but twice by the soldier. Sometimes in the heat of battle, when everything was on the line between life and death for these guys, with continued firing, the guns simply misfired and the process to extract the bullet would begin. My guess is, with bullets whizzing by their heads, the extraction process seemed an eternity. This nice collection was excavated in central Virginia by various relic hunters and the bullets pictured are the exact bullets you will receive.
