Pocket Knife

SOLD

According to the digger's index card, this excavated two-blade pocket knife was recovered south of Hatcher's Run, Dinwiddie, County, VA. The knife appears to be constructed of brass, iron, and wood, with much of the wood still remaining. On one side is a small brass plate imbedded in the wood and on the other side is the digger's inventory number in black on what is believed to be a "white-out" background. A portion of one of the two blades is missing. It measures approximately 7/8 x 1-1/8 x 4 inches.

This pocket knife was acquired directly from the digger's family. The digger hunted Civil War trails, campsites, and battle sites throughout central Virginia and adjacent states for several decades. Included in the additional images of this relic is an image of the digger's index card indicating, in most cases, the relic's identification, assessment of condition, recovery date & location, and other general information. In cases where there are discrepancies between the digger's description and Virginia Relic's description, Virginia Relic's description shall be deemed correct. The display case, its label, and an image of the index card will be included with the plate. The display case measures approximately 5-1/4 x 6 x 1-1/4 inches. This pocket knife will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War campsite or general relic collection.
