Snake Buckle Belt Keeper

SOLD

This excavated snake buckle belt keeper is in very good condition and is a major portion of an imported multi-piece buckle used by both Federal and Confederate troops. According to the digger's typed label the keeper was recovered January 29, 1978, in Jetersville, VA. It has a dusty brown-green patina, and its belt loop measures approximately 2-3/8 inch in overall height. It has no cracks, breaks, bends, or repairs.

This relic was acquired directly from the family of E. V. Smith. Mr. Smith, a lifelong Virginia relic hunter, thoughtfully recorded its date and location of recovery. The digger's label will be included. It will be an excellent beginning for anyone wanting to add a snake buckle to their collection or, should you already have the other portions, an excellent opportunity to complete your buckle.
