Surry County Virginia One Dollar Note - 1862

This original Confederate Surry County, Virginia one dollar note is in good condition and is dated August 25, 1862. The note is hand numbered "1835". Printed on the note is "Surry County Virginia, August 25, 1862 / Registered and Numbered 1835 / The COUNTY OF SURRY Promises to pay Bearer / ONE DOLLAR / The taxable property of the Citizens of the County of Surry bound for the payment of the Note. / By authority if the County Court of Surry, pur-suant to law. / Receivable for County Dues. / PETERSBURG EXPRESS PRINT,". The rear is blank. The paper is crisp with complete borders. There is creasing and several pinholes. This note will come in a clear acid free envelope for preservation and display and will be an excellent addition to any Civil War note or general relic collection.
