Backmark: "HYDE & GOODRICH / NEW ORLEANS" dm
Design: Five-pointed star on a lined field with the letters T-E-X-A-S between points.
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 22 mm.
Condition: Good, excavated, secure shank present. Ample gilt with a brown patina. There is old damage that include holes at the ten o'clock position of the rim. The button is solid with no pushes, cracks or repairs.
Recovered: Unknown.

Comments: This Texas militia coat button was acquired directly from the family of the Virginia digger and will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
