Condition:  Used, no dust jacket, but in good solid shape. The cover, or boards, has some staining with edge and corner wear. Features mounted black and white photographs of statues on Richmond's Monument Avenue. Some of the interior photo tissue is creased, has holes, and is separating from the spine, but the photos are in great shape.  
Comments:
  As mentioned above there were only 500 copies of this book produced. It was never offered for sale and, according to the author, "is 'much the rarest' of his publications" The author, Douglas Southall Freeman (May 16, 1886 – June 13, 1953), was an American historian, biographer, newspaper editor, and author. He is best known for his multi-volume biographies of Robert E. Lee and George Washington, for which he was awarded two Pulitzer Prizes.
