Title: "Uniform Buttons American Armed Forces 1784-1948 " - Volumes I & II
Description: Volume I contains descriptions and values (at the time of publication) with volume II containing images of the corresponding buttons found in volume I.
Authors: David F. Johnson
Published: 1948 First Edition
Construction: Hardcover protected by a clear mylar jackets.
Pages: Volume I: 221; Volume II 100 plates plus Indices I & II.
Approximate size: 6-1/4 x 9-1/4 inches (both volumes)
Condition: Volume I - Previously owned in very good condition. Former owner name in ink in two places on endpaper with bookplate. After a cursory look through the pages, none appear to have notations or other marks. Pages have moderate age toning.
Condition: Volume II - Previously owned in good condition. Book is solid but does show wear on boards, edges, corners and spine, but nothing major. Former owner's name is in ink in two places on endpaper. After a cursory look through the pages, I found only one small notation in light pencil at top of plate 56 (shown in additional images) which appears to be ""Navy". Pages have moderate age toning.
Comments: This is an excellent opportunity to add this difficult to find two-volume military button reference to your reference library. The set is for anyone interested in military button collecting.
Note: In an effort to distinguish Volume I from Volume II in the additional images, I have marked the first few images of each volume in red indicating that the unmarked images that follow, are pages from that particular volume. The red labels are only in the images and not on the actual book pages.
